I switched from EDC Glock 23 to the Kimber Pro Carry II then after about a year I obtained a Ultra RCP II and it has become my EDC. All in .45 ACP. I kept my Glocks as I like the platform but those damm 1911's keep calling me back. I have even switch from my IDPA gun a Glock 35 to a S&W 1911 9mm Pro, just to keep the platforms the same, 1911 style.The melt package, checkering and night sights are the difference in the CDP that made me choose it over the Ultra Carry. The primary thing I think was they reduced the amount of the carry melt treatment a little. I had problems working the safety on the EMP.I have old arthritic hands and I kept thinking that was the problem. I have A Kimber 45 that I shoot just fine. So I went and bought A Ultra Carry and I shoot this gun just fine. No problems with the safety issue.
